The Brilliant Light of Amber Sunrise by Mathew Crow

Update: School is out and I am getting back into book-blogging. I have only read one book in the short time I have had off school but it was a pretty good start.

This short and sweet tale from the life of Francis recalls his first love. Francis meets Amber Sunrise while staying in the hospital being treated for cancer. The book uncovers secrets from the past and the two even get into a bit of trouble. It isn't all happy and dreamy however, especially when Francis is getting better and Amber worse. I believe this book really teaches a lesson on the value of life and how each individual person has talents, thoughts, and beliefs that make each unique from one another. The Brilliant Light of Amber Sunrise isn't for everyone because it is really fast paced and wouldn't be enjoyed by those who dislike realistic fiction. In all, the book was a very sweet but virtuous lesson on life in general.

Private by Kate Brian

Recently, I have finished the book Private by Kate Brian. It is the first in a fast pace series, and has a lot of suspense and drama which cause it to be a very interesting book. The main character, Reed, starts out at a new school and eventually starts to talk to the royalty or "Billings Girls" and becomes attached to the thought of a life of luxury and carelessness. She ends up realizing their is a lot more to these girls than just glamour, and their is a tad bit of darkness brewing....

Anyways, I really enjoyed the book and am excited to see what happens in the next book.

The Sharp Time by Mary O'Conell

I have finished Birth Marked and it was very very very good! But, now I am reading The Sharp Time and really enjoying it. The reading level is a bit higher and can be sometimes harder to understand just because of the content. It is told about a girl, Sandista, right after her mother dies. The book starts out when she decides to apply for a job at "Pale Circus," which is basically a vintage store. She then goes on to meet Bradley, and then does something that pretty much changes the course of the entire book. I really enjoy the storyline, but at times the book can become just a bit slow, and have very little action. Most would enjoy this book, you just have to get past the first quarter of the book! I do think lovers of realistic fiction would like this book because of the many feelings the main characters have that can be related to.

Let's see if we can get this post to 5 google plus ones or whatever they are called?!

Birth Marked by Caragh M. O' Brien

My latest read is Birth Marked by Caragh M. O' Brien. I have not finished this book yet, but so far I enjoy it quite a lot. I will do a mini, spoiler-free review now, and a full-on review later. Basically, the story is of a girl, who is quite special. Gaia lives in a world ruled by the Enclave, and she works for them. It starts with Gaia delivering her first baby after her mom wasn't there to help her, she then comes home to something that will pretty much change her life. The story is quite similar to other dystopian novels, but is still quite unique. I recommend this book to anyone who likes YA novels or dystopian fiction. It is the first in a trilogy with the next book being Prized.

Happy Summer Reading!

How to NOT Become Distracted By Books!

This is completely random but may help you. So, I have this problem with books where I am reading way too many at once. My solution: have one of your book loving friends hold two or more books that are distracting you "hostage." This probably sounds completely insane, but it has actually worked for me. Also, the only way to get your books back is to read a book that has been on your TBR pile forevvvaaa. Yep, great solution, thank me later. Lol, this has been it strange post. Stay productive and read dem books! Comment, follow my insta @elizabethlikesbooks, and be sure to share!

Baby Haul

I forgot to mention my Instagram is @elizabethlikebooks. I just posted a picture of my little haul from my school book fair. I bought the following four books.
I will review all of them eventually, but it probably won't be until sometime in summer because my TBR pile is too big. #readerproblems
